We currently have an opening for an Engineering Technologist that will be located out of our Guelph facility, and will report into the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. This role requires excellent blueprint reading skills and good understanding of welding and manufacturing processes.


Essential Job Functions Include:

  • Creating/Uploading engineering masters and drawing packages
  • Creating/Uploading plasma burn programs
  • Design of welding and machining fixtures and templates
  • Assist in quoting new parts
  • Create accurate instructions/routings using Visual ERP
  • Have a strong emphasis on Quality and Health and Safety 

Qualifications include:

  • Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous ERP system experience
  • Must have Knowledge of Auto CAD Inventor (or equivalent 3D software)
  • I.S.O. / Q.S. 9000 / Total Quality Management (T.Q.M.) knowledge/experience
  • Knowledge of metal working equipment, mobile handling and welding equipment
  • Must have working experience with engineering standards, systems, and records keeping
  • CNC programming software experience is considered an asset

The successful applicant will have the skills in the following areas:

  • Experience creating "flat" layouts from customer 3D drawings and create burning templates
  • Strong Communication/interpersonal skills
  • Investigate and solve manufacturing quality issues
  • Must know Manufacturing Processes and Machine Shop experience an asset
  • Must be a team player, able to work independently and with others in a close environment
  • Must possess time management skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
